AMD’s 14nm ZEN desktop processors will deliver better price performance ratios
Q1 2017 should be the turning point of AMD where they have been out of the race against INTEL for the past years.
AMD will launch their new ZEN processors built on 14nm and will be priced competitively deliverying better price performance ratio.
Intel on the other hand will probably deliver it’s 10nm Kaby Lake processors probably after 2Q or 3Q giving AMD a 3 to 6 mths time frame to capture the market. As for the 10nm processor from Intel, it is not known how far they can push the performance envelope, maybe another 5% ~ 10% gain for an arm and a leg.
Both AMD and Intel will be showcasing their latest desktop processors at CES 2017 held in Jan 2017.
AMD computing segment should post good earnings in fiscal 4Q 2016 and 1Q 2017 from the strong demand of it’s 7th generation APUs and ZEN processors.
