AMD introduced the highly anticipated AMD Ryzen 5000 Series desktop processor lineup powered by the new “Zen 3” architecture. Offering up to 16 cores, 32 threads and 72 MB of cache in the top-of-the-line AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors dominate in heavily threaded workloads[1] and power efficiency[2], while the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor offers up to a 26% generational uplift in gaming performance[3]. With extensive improvements throughout the core including a unified 8-core complex with direct access to 32MB L3 cache, the new AMD “Zen 3” core architecture delivers a 19% generational increase in instructions per cycle (IPC)[4], the largest since the introduction of “Zen” processors in 2017.
The AMD Ryzen 5900X comes with 12 core 24 threads and as a max of 4.8 GHz Boost. It has 20 MB L2+L3 cache with a TDP of 105W.
In Cinebench single core performance scores 631 which outperforms the Intel Core i9-10900K. Time taken to complete the Cinebench test took 7min 42s vs 8 mins 56 sec on Intel.
Two other lower end models are the Ryzen 5800X and 5600X.
Ryzen 5800X comes with 8 core 16 threads 36 mB cache and have a turbo clock of 4.7 GHz and has 105W TDP, it will be priced at USD 499.
Ryzen 5600X is a 6 core 12 threads 35 MB cache processor. It’s turbo clock will be at 4.6 GHz and has a TDP of 65W. It will be priced at USD 299.
The fastest Ryzen 5000 processor is is the Ryzen 9 5950X. It has the best for gaming and content creators. Max clock is rated 4.9 GHz this processor has 72 MB of L2+L3 cache and has a TDP of 105W.
