Futuremark 3Dmark Sky Diver, FireStrike and Time Spy

Sky Diver is a DX11 test running at 1080P. 3DMark Time Spy is a DX12 benchmark test for Gaming PCs. It renders at 2560 x 1440. Fire Strike is a test on high performance gaming PCs. It renders at 4K UHD 3840 X 2160. It is the most demanding tests among the three.

In this test, we compare the processor with our existing Z270 and Z170 system running the Core i5-7600K (Z270) and Core i7-6700K (Z170) with a set of Gigabyte GeForce GTX1060 graphics card.

The Ryzen 5 1600X is definitely putting the 6 cores to it’s advantage. We can see that the Ryzen 1600X outperforms Core i7-6700K by over 4000 points. The Ryzen 5 1500X is just slightly slower than a Core i6-6700K and that can be compensated if we overclocked it to 3.9GHz.

There are also some interesting results we noticed. The Ryzen 5 1600X outperformed the 1800X in the test. After looking back at our previous review, we noticed that the X370 system was actually running at DDR4-2933 as it couldn’t run DDR4-3200 with the first generation BIOS.

From Fire Strike, the performance can be seen to be on par with a core i7-6700K. It is interesting to see that the performance of the Ryzen 1600X seems to outperform as it is running on DDR4-3200.

As for the Ryzen 5 1500X, the performance is slightly better than the Core i5-7600K. It gets closer to the performance of a core i7-6700K when overclocked.

In Time Spy, can clearly see that the Ryzen 5 1600X is on par with a Core i7-6700K while the Ryzen 5 1500X is slightly behind the Core i5-7600K.
