Digitimes reports that Taiwanese manufacturers – Acer, ASUS, Japanese Sony and Korea’s Samsung are ready to launch their Chrome OS based notebooks featuring Intel or NVIDIA processors at ComputeX Taipei 2011. They come in 10 to 12 ” screen either with Chrome OS or Dual boot configuration (Dual OS).
The Acer and Asustek’s Chrome OS or dual-OS notebooks will have a chance to see prices below US$300 to separate them from the tablet PC market which has a price range above US$499. Meanwhile, Sony’s new 11.6-inch Chrome OS notebook reportedly will adopt Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor to help its battery longevity reach above eight hours.
