Riding on the success of the first HyperX Cloud Headset, Kingston delivers the 2nd generation HyperX Cloud II.
The new HyperX Cloud II looks similar to it’s predecessor. In fact, you wouldn’t have notice until you see the USB audio control box that comes with it.
Instead of plugging the audio jack into the PC or notebook, you can now plug it into the USB audio control box and hook up the control box to your USB port on your PC/Notebook or Mac. The beauty of it is that it is auto recognised and no extra drivers are required. The only setting you might have to meddle in Windows 8.1 is probably the selection of audio output device. Of course you can still use it as a standalone without the USB audio box by plugging the 3.5mm plug into the audio source output.
The USB audio control box is embedded with a built in DSP sound card which can deliver virtual 7.1 surround sound. The virtual 7.1 can be turned on or off on all music or gaming sources to give you that extra depth with surround effect. You could probably identify the direction of the sound with more accuracy.
The headset is comfortable to wear with a 100% memory foam on headband and leatherette cushions. With it’s closed up design, it acts as a passive noise cancellation.
The package also comes with a microphone which you can easily attach to the side of the headset. The microphone is certified for TeamSpeak and is optimised for Skype and other chat programs.
